Pavers from their size
Choose Pavers, then set the Paver length, Paver width and Joint width: the app lays a grid of pieces over the area and counts them. The preset is the common 4 × 8 in paver with a ⅛ in joint. Extra for waste adds 5 % for cuts at the edges; choose 0, 5, 10 or 15 %.
What goes under them
The same zone gives the bedding sand (Bedding sand depth, 1 in), the joint sand (from the joints and the Paver thickness) and the crushed stone base (Base depth (0 = none), 6 in). The base is counted to size, without the waste allowance.
Shapes, not just rectangles
A patio is often a rectangle plus a half-circle, or an L. Enter it as shapes added up, or draw it on the satellite view. See Measure the area. A Slab zone works the same way, in cubic yards of concrete and bags.
