FAQ
Questions and answers
The questions people ask about Landscaping Calc.
Getting started
Is Landscaping Calc free?
Yes. Every feature is free. Ads pay for the app, and one purchase removes them. There is no subscription.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no sign-up. Your projects stay on your phone.
Is there an iPhone version?
No. Landscaping Calc is an Android app.
Feet or meters?
Both: square feet, cubic yards, inches and tons, or square meters, cubic meters, centimeters and tonnes. The app follows your phone, or Units and formats.
Measuring
How does it measure an area?
Draw it on the satellite view, walk around it with GPS, type its dimensions, or reuse a saved measurement. See Measure the area.
How precise is it?
Right for buying materials, not a property survey. A drawing is as good as the photo under it; a GPS walk shows its ± figure.
Can I enter feet and inches?
Yes: 12' 6" is read as twelve feet six inches, in every dimension.
Materials
Which materials does it know?
Mulch, gravel, topsoil, compost, river rock, decomposed granite, bedding and joint sand, crushed stone base, drainage gravel, pavers, wall blocks and caps, edging, drain pipe and concrete.
How does it turn cubic yards into bags and tons?
With the bag size and the density of each material. Both are presets you can change. See Bags in a cubic yard.
Does it do grass seed or sod?
No. The lawn belongs to Lawn Calc, a separate app.
Ordering and quotes
Does it know material prices?
No. You enter your prices, once in Default prices or per project. The app never invents a price.
Can I send a quote to my customer?
Yes: a Customer quote with your margin, labor, delivery and tax, as a PDF or text. See Landscaping quote.
Privacy
Does it upload my projects or my position?
No. They stay on your phone. The network carries map tiles, address search and ads. See Privacy.
