From cubic yards to tons
Gravel is measured by volume but often sold by weight. The app turns the volume into tons with the Density of each material: 1.6 t/m³ for gravel, about 1.35 tons per cubic yard. River rock, decomposed granite, bedding sand and crushed stone base each have their own.
How you buy it
In the order, Order by picks the unit of each line: cubic yard, ton, bag, big bag or truckload. A truck is full when its bed or its payload is, whichever comes first: dense gravel fills the payload before the bed. The preset truck carries 12 cu yd and 14 tons; set your yard's in Truck volume and Truck payload.
A quick answer
Quick calc takes one material and one area: type the area or tick Calculate from dimensions, set the depth, and read the cubic yards, tons and bags as you type.
