Projects and zones

One project per garden or customer, one zone per area of the job.

A project

New project asks for its name: the garden, the customer or the address. The project shows its zones in the Zones tab and what to buy in the Order tab. Its menu offers Rename, Notes, Use these prices as defaults and Delete; deleting a project keeps your measurements.

A zone

Add a zone asks what the job is — Mulch, Gravel, Topsoil, Pavers, Wall, Edging, Slab or Other materials — then How to measure it?. See Measuring a zone and Materials and depths.

Adding up

The same material in several zones is one line in the order, counted on the total. A zone shows its own share and the order of the whole project, so a bed of 1.35 cu yd can read “Project order: 71 bags”.
